Dealing with peer pressure...

These two words are not new to us teenagers and its really annoying talking about it. Yeah. But its the truth, you know what I’m talking about. Now wait! I’m not writing this to just to leave some bunch of guys, or to bring yourself down among your peers, or to act like an “SU” just to be a changed teenager. Thank God it’s not an adult that is writing this, you know, they could be old school and they could be so unreal. But we are rubbing minds together as teenagers on how to overcome peer pressure. The best option will definitely not be to turn down the requests of some bunch of bad guys, if you don’t want to hurt your back. Then you ask “what is the best way to handle it?” The first step to take is to know who you are (integrity). This is very important. You say “I wanna be known/be/live like a Christian”, fine! Then you just have to stick to it no matter what happens. Though it’s not easy anyway, and that’s the more reason you needs Gods help in your life. The next step is to try and make friends with like minds with you and that will add value to your life. It is better to make the first impression of you known, that way it will be easier dealing with peer pressure. (First impression matters!). When people already know what you stand for, they won’t bother wasting time on you. Though this might be very annoying as you might or ‘will’ receive a lot of embarrassments, just remember ‘INTEGRITY’.
If you have given in to peer pressure and you are probably asking ‘how do I get out of it?’ you know, the truth is very bitter, but there is no point beating around the bush. You might squeeze you face, but if you really want to move forward, you have to face the truth and the truth is that there is no other way out than to involve God through Jesus, his son. I know how you are feeling right now but just determine in your heart that you want to leave those behaviours. If you do it yourself, you find that you go back to those behaviours and it even becomes worse than before. If you do it yourself, you might also get into trouble, but God knows how he works everything together for your good. If you want to accept Jesus, just say the short prayers below this article from your heart.
Perhaps, you fall into the category of those that put pressure on others. The truth is, whether you like it or not, you cannot continue like that. Why not give it up now instead of having to face the consequences in a hard way. What you sow, you shall surely reap. Now wait! I didn’t write this to judge you because I understand some of you hate hearing these things because they are always judging you, just like I once thought. It’s not like that but it’s the truth. Bitter!
If you want to accept Jesus, say this short prayer from your heart:
Dear God, I have heard about you and I thank you for loving me in spite of my many sins and weaknesses. I believe that you died and rose again to save me. I repent of my sins and forsake them. I will live to please you as your Holy Spirit helps me. I receive you into my heart and I ask that you make me yours forever. Help me to be your friend and may we love and honour each other for all eternity. Thank you for accepting me. I have prayed in Jesus name. Amen.
It’s an experience you will never regret in your whole life, I’ve gone through it and I’m a living testimony. Take this step and you will be blessed in Jesus name. Amen
