Here is it.........
Do you know that God loves you so much (beyond just saying it or hearing it all the time)? Do you know why He loves you or is there any prove that He loves you...? Well, all I can say is God himself is love and was described like that in the Bible. But I sure can prove that God loves you, BIG TIME!
I am sure you have an idea of the story of Adam and Eve-If you don’t- Adam was the First man that God ever created and Eve was the first woman. They were both good friends of God, but just when everything was going on smoothly, the devil came to tempt Eve to disobey God, Eve later persuaded Adam and they both disobeyed God and God threw them out of the beautiful garden He placed them earlier to a world where they would suffer. If you don’t know the story read Genesis 1. What I want you to know about this story is that man-who have their origin in Adam and Eve - have been separated from God after the incident because of their sins. God is a merciful God and found it hard to leave us alone; He couldn’t just watch us wonder away from Him as He knew it will lead us to destruction. After thinking of what to do He resolved to give us two gifts: 1.GOD’S WORK FOR US. 2. GOD’S WORK IN US.
Funny as it sounds you can’t do without any of them (but remember they are gifts and were not forced on us by God, so we have the choice of opening the gifts). Come along as we explore these gifts (note: The second gift is wrapped in the first)......
- 1. HIS WORK FOR US: Lets go back to the days in the Bible when sacrifices (burnt offerings) were offered to God. It started from the time of Cain and Abel (read Genesis) when Abel knew that Blood would be needed for the forgiveness of sins, since then sacrifices upon sacrifices had been made for atonement. But can I give you a shocker? God made the sacrifice for us Himself. He offered a sacrifice of innocent blood for the sins of all humankind so that we wouldn’t need to offer anymore (Can you see the weight of that?... you ain’t seen nothing yet, more is to come). This is the first gift of God to you and me. That’s why we Christians don’t offer sacrifices anymore. now here's the shocker...... Guess who He offered as lamb, His son (wasn’t that as good as offering himself). Jesus-God’s ONLY son-Came down from paradise-(now I’m not talking about the kind of paradise you would have ever imagined in your entire life time)-in heaven to this cruel world but if you have read any of the books of the gospels (Matthew, Mark Luke or John) you may begin to ask why He didn’t just die instead of going through all the suffering. Why did He have to carry the cross? Why did He have to be beaten and wounded by a crown of thorns? Couldn’t He have just done the main thing (to die on the cross)? Yes He could have done all of that, better still, He could have used lasers from His eyes to destroy the soldiers that were beating him (wasn't He the son of God?), but He chose to go through the pain for us, he chose to be in our shoes, to be limited by time, places and other earthly boundaries Just for us to trust him. If i wanted a rat to stop being afraid of me, will it ever hear? IT’LL RUN if you don’t know. I'm sure its Until I become small and grow a tail before it believes me, so it’ll know that I know what it feels like to be a rat and it can be rest assured that I wouldn’t try killing it. Now liken that to Jesus and us, He did not come to kill us but to carry our cross for us. That’s God’s work for us! Taking the step to pick up this gift and unwrapping it means believing in Jesus, accepting Him as your Lord and Savior.... Now here’s the part I’m going, Most of us-people-unwrap the first gift but dump the second. Not like many of us don’t know there is a second one, but impatience wouldn’t allow use open it carefully. That leads us to the second gift.
Dear God, I have heard about you and I thank you for loving me in spite of my many sins and weaknesses. I believe that you died and rose again to save me. I repent of my sins and forsake them. I will live to please you as your Holy Spirit helps me. I receive you into my heart and I ask that you make me yours forever. Help me to be your friend and may we love and honour each other for all eternity. Thank you for accepting me. I have prayed in Jesus name. Amen.
If you said this prayer, thanks for accepting God's first gift, and congratulations. If you want to go further to unwrap the second, start reading your Bible and learn from it, you get a daily devotional from your pastor, it'll guide you in reading your bible. please also to go to church. Don't feel bad when you sin, just ask God for forgiveness no matter what you have done He's always there to forgive you. Please try to read ny next article on the Holy Spirit (coming soon). Would let you know when its out!
